Back to school signals a return to those familiar weekday routines for most of us. Touch base with anyone who has K-12th grade school-aged kids at this time of year and you’ll likely find the first few weeks in September are spent focusing on mastering the “balancing act” … fitting in after school activities, ensuring homework assignments are complete and, yes, amending household sleeping schedules.

Fall brings adjustments, adaptations and realignment to changes in schedules and expectations. Regardless of whether it is at home or in the workplace, at best change is experienced as collaborative, and engaged in approach. Or, at worst, there’s a powerful whirlwind of chaos.

Lifelong learning-or the conscious and deliberate intent to learn-is needed to stay relevant. It is a true departure from a traditional “homework.” So, as we focus on getting back into the “groove” and helping our students succeed in their own meaningful learning experiences, it got us thinking about the power of engaged learning experiences in organizations.

Take a moment to reflect on these questions:

  • How do you stay relevant and engaged as a learner, in addition to your “day job?”
  • Does your organization approach training as an integral part of your culture?
  • Have you set the expectation that learning is an “all in” contribution or are you approaching “training” as a specific “day of” event?
  • Active learning experiences are powerful. When all members of the team engage, there are special moments and shifts that transform mindsets, behaviors and actions for teams and organizations. It’s a great time to redefine, or refine, expectations for you and your team and how to approach learning experiences.

When it comes to training, one size does not fit all. What motivates one salesperson may miss the mark with another. By identifying the unique potential of each sales team member and providing the training and coaching necessary to play to their strengths and develop their untapped potential, we help you break through barriers and maximize your sales. Let us know if we can help.
