The end of the business year is near, and most say it has been a very interesting one.  As we all know, change is a constant, and one vital key to success is to cultivate higher levels of insight and awareness.

One simple exercise to help with this is to identify and reflect on the lessons from the last year and years gone by. We can then incorporate these learnings as we chart our course and move into 2025. This can be viewed as a new beginning. We can review the past objectively without judgment or shame, be kind to ourselves about our challenges, and celebrate our growth. I find that very hopeful.

Personally, I learned a few things while reflecting on last year. There’s more, but this will give you a taste of what I’m thinking.

  • Training and development are still the pathway to a brighter future for all.
  • My Enneagram patterns show up when I’m stressed despite my wanting to have already “arrived.”
  • Remember to catch the moments that matter.
  • I’m aging whether I like it or not.
  • My new dog needs to be trained, and while I have a trainer, I must do my part to ensure the training’s success.
  • Not everyone I love holds the same beliefs as me, and I still love them.
  • Using solid resources always makes sense, not just when you’re under pressure.
  • I remain a work in progress.

By the way, Theresa just wrote an excellent piece on Goal Setting to help us gain clarity about next year. Our Goal-Setting packet is a fantastic resource if you’d like help with charting your course. Check it out. I promise the process will help you sort things out.

I wish you each a reflective and enriching end of 2024 and a refreshing new start in 2025.

Cheers to hope.
