Effective Communication in the Workplace

Um, I was kinda thinking that maybe we should consider the possibility that our use of, like, language, impacts our communication. I mean, only if it matters to you?

In all seriousness, the choices we make in the language of conversation such as verbal fillers, directly effect the impact of our communications and how we are perceived.

Here’s an excerpt from an article by Lou Solomon for Success.com that encourages us to improve our language choices in order to effectively communicate:

“These verbal mistakes can cost you credibility and influence, so fix them, stat-if you want people to take you seriously. Whether you are leading a team meeting, presenting to a prospective client or delivering a keynote speech to a global audience, verbal mistakes will undermine your credibility and distract from your message. If you want to have integrity and influence, consider dropping these phrases.”
