Transform’s work over the last 25 years has allowed us to partner with some very talented business owners and CEOs who recognized that in order to grow their businesses they needed to look outside their organizations for assistance. They were also committed to their own personal growth and development and wanted that for their employees as well. Mary Anne always says, “The company with the best talent wins.” Our clients believe this and see the value in investing in themselves and their employees, especially during tough times like 9/11, 2008, and COVID. Keeping employees engaged, focused on building their skills, and coping with tough selling and servicing environments is what differentiates these clients from their competition and is a winning formula for any company’s long-term success.

We’d like to introduce you to some of our clients who have been with us from the very start of Transform, Inc. in 1996. We have journeyed together over all these years, and for that, we are grateful!

In 1968 Sandy was a single mom who experienced challenges in securing childcare for her three children, and so she decided to start a business that she named Family & Nursing Care. Her intention was to create a registry of childcare providers and certified nursing assistants for clients needing these services in the Silver Spring, Maryland area. Fast forward to 1997 when we met Sandy, her daughter, Julie, and son, Neal, and began working with Family & Nursing Care to provide leadership skills and organizational development services. In those initial days we helped Sandy and Julie develop their leadership and management skills while building the internal systems and processes to support their growth. Neal had just graduated from college in 1997, and he was learning the business by performing assigned day-to-day responsibilities.

Over the years, Transform worked on many projects for Family & Nursing Care, including strategic planning; the development of their vision, values, and mission; succession planning with Sandy; one-on-one executive coaching with leadership team members; sales and business development consulting and training; company-wide training programs; and redesigning structures and processes as the business continued to grow. We also introduced the Enneagram to their leadership team, which facilitated more open, honest, and productive communication. Today, the company has successfully transitioned to Neal’s leadership and continues to be recognized and honored for its exceptional service and operations. We believe the early work we did with Family & Nursing Care set the course for building and sustaining a culture that is resilient and attracts caregivers and employees to an organization that lives its values and provides exceptional care for its clients as well as supporting philanthropic work in the Metro DC area.

What was so special about Sandy, Julie, and Neal was their commitment to caring for their employees and caregivers and to their own growth and development so that the organization could thrive into the next generation and beyond.

We met Craig in 1994 while Mary Anne and I worked at the Sandler Training Institute in Tysons Corner. Craig was a new business owner selling sunrooms and remodeling services. He came to Sandler to develop his selling skills, and Theresa worked with him on personal productivity and building his company’s internal systems and processes. Fast forward several years — Craig and a co-worker, Bob, formed a partnership and together they formed Sun Design, Inc. We encouraged them both to start the relationship off right by exploring their Enneagram Types. To this day, the Enneagram has supported their partnership and contributed to the tremendous success of the company. Craig and Bob are exceptional leaders who knew when to ask for help and allowed us to partner with them to grow the business to what it is today.

The power of the Enneagram so impacted Craig and Bob in their business partnership and lives that they have introduced the Enneagram to all their team members. Mary Anne has worked with the leadership and the sales and design teams over the years to develop high-performing teams and provide one-on-one coaching that focused on the growth and development of the team members. Theresa worked with the Production team on building their management and client relationship development skills. Today, Sun Design has expanded their capabilities and grown their company to be an award-winning design-build construction company and desired employer in the DC Metro area.

Craig and Bob were early adopters of the Enneagram. Their transparency as leaders and their ability to build a healthy, engaged culture makes Sun Design stand out to us as a company that saw the power of personal transformation as a key to organizational, professional, and personal success.

Stay tuned for more stories about our clients through Transform’s 25 years. One thing that makes our work so rewarding is witnessing how the use of the Enneagram and our services have transformed their businesses, their partnerships, and their employees’ professional and personal lives. If you would like this for your organization, its leaders and employees, or for yourself personally, we are only a phone call away!
